Are the scenes completely natural, where filmmakers just wait and capture whatever happens in the wild, or are some parts staged or recreated? For example, things like predator chases, animal interactions, or close-up shots that seem almost impossible to film.
Do crews just spend months waiting for these moments, or is there sometimes controlled filming involved (like using captive animals or recreating scenes)?
Basically I’m wondering how much of what we see in nature documentaries is pure observation versus filmmaking techniques.
