Shows like Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Star Trek TNG-Enterprise, Farscape, Babylon 5, BSG, x-files etc. Those were my childhood and I still watch them religiously. Streaming has made everything so convenient, but I think what we have lost is just not worth it to me.
I have such nostalgia and love for these old shows. 20+ episodes, hour long. Planet/Monster of the week style. You get lots of fluff episodes that really nail down and flesh out characters. I love it!
I really miss the “marathon” feel of those seasons. Nowadays, everything is 8–10 episodes and strictly serialized. Do you think the 22-episode procedural or episodic format is dead forever?
