Just finished the 4th season and boy oh boy, it hits like crack.
I started the show some time after the third season ended. And was interested because of Kit Harrington. But I also knew that he didn’t come in until the third season. Mostly what I heard was that the show is like mad men and succession. So I started it.
The first two seasons were riveting. A very grounded take on the finance world. Which I loved a lot. But the show really started working for me in the 3rd season. See, I like to be entertained and the show became more entertaining in the 3rd and even more in the 4th season. You could see that they were aiming for the “Prestige TV” audience from the 3rd season onwards.
So, If you like some gritty, fast-paced TV, Industry is it. It has the cutthroat world of finance and a bunch of graduates navigating the world. And then the show keeps escalating and escalating. I love it.
Some S4 thoughts:Kit Harrington and Max Minghella were the MVPs of this season. Whitney scared the shit out of me. That man’s the fucking devil. Kit and Marisa’s performances in the 2nd ep and throughout the season are phenomenal. While the Harper parts are getting smaller and smaller (which I don’t like), I think the writing is at its best when the show is about her. Eric, my man, you will be missed. Rishi too, but that kinda felt abrupt. Yasmin has reached the point of no return now. At least Harper is not alone anymore, or she’s not trying to be. Very excited for the final season.
