I am thinking the first time we got members of organized crime as the “heroes” in tv series was “THE SOPRANOS”. We have had many since – the wire (i have not seen that one), Breaking Bad, Warrior, Banshee, Lucifer may fit in here, etc…
Heck, even John Dutton of Yellowstone shot an injured man dead on the ground and of course there was always the “train station”. Were there any before The Sopranos?
Seems they were all pure as the driven snow ‘bachelor father’ types…
