  Not tipping a tipped employee doesn’t hurt the employer, the employer gave you the option of cheating their worker, and you took them up on it.

  If you want to protest tipping, don’t patronize places that use tipped workers. But if you don’t have the money to tip wait staff, you don’t have the money to go out to eat.
