It Welcome to Derry was the most recent example of this. The entire 1st episode seems to set up the main cast of Teddy, Phil, Lily and Susie, with the former seeming to be the leader. Its so funny seeing everyone react to the theater scene and going “no this has to be an illusion right” only to see at the end, its NOT.

Arcane epsiode 3… that was crazy. Pretty much everyone thought the kids would somehow manage to rescue Vander and escape. And then bam, they’re killing them off 1 by 1.

But the most brutal was Alice in Borderland episode 3. For the first two, you’re taken by surprise. But in Alice in Borderland, you have pretty much all of episode 3. Legit everyone thinks “no, there’s going to be some twist or way out of it for sure”. But nope. This was the first one of the 3 to do it and it was painful.
