Overall, I enjoyed a lot of it. Some things I didn’t enjoy at all. Like every season of Supernatural, from the episodes that Eric Kripke wrote or framed, through AD’s last years as showrunner, every season had something about it I loved. I am absolutely devastated that Sam and Dean are (for now) off our screens in new episodes, but I also love the way the show ended—as it began, with just the two brothers. COVID was and is a curse but out of that monstrosity, came the as near to perfect ending as I could have asked for for Sam and Dean. I’m glad that we didn’t get the wall-to-wall people that was originally scheduled to be seen when Sam and Dean got there. I’m glad we got to see “our” Bobby and that Dean just drove till his soulmate Sam, came home too. It was perfect. I cried buckets.
So, for me, in spite of moments or episodes I didn’t like, season 15 was a success.
Overall? It’s bad. It’s really bad. It had some moments (Castiel’s confession, Cas and Jack working cases, Miracle the dog), but it just didn’t feel right to me. It felt grey and somber and just off. And with all the drama surrounding the finale and Castiel it’s even worse. Basically, I didn’t like season 15 because I didn’t think it was that good and because I feel like the end of the show was mishandled and slapped together. That’s just my opinion, though, there are plenty of people who enjoy the season!
The storyline has been played out several times but has been drawn out due to the huge fan base and the undeniable appeal of the stars of the show, both physicially and emotionally. Both “J’s” are extremely conscious of their fandom, their power and their influence. Jared Padalecki has used his own struggle with depression to create a campaign of information of resources. Jensen Ackles supports his co star and has been known to support the LGBTQ community along with his wife. The show has been been stretched beyond the realm of realism. These two guys were in their twenties when the show began, virtual unknowns and single. They both have have families now, are well into their thirties and probably, as actors have other projects they would like to pursue.
Misha Collins, a later addition to the cast has his own family and projects to tend to, one of which is Gwish’s
The show was supposed to end after season five episode twenty-two Swan Song. It wasn’t supposed to continue as the writers didn’t see any more plot lines they could write after the big bang of putting Michael and Lucifer in the cage. But, because of the fans, they continued the series to fifteen seasons.
Some of the plot lines were monotonous, as it gets when a show is on for so long. You start to run out of material, and I think the writers realized that was what was happening. Who would want to watch a show when they already know what’s going to happen?
Honestly, I’m surprised Supernatural lasted fifteen seasons in terms of writing. From a fan’s perspective, I’m heartbroken.
While I didn’t start watching it in 2005 when the show premiered as I was only seven and shows like that were banned for me, I did start watching it when I was fourteen and just starting high school. Supernatural got me through a lot as a teenager and young adult. I connected so much with the characters and the story that I didn’t feel so alone in the world. When I introduced it to my best friend, she was hooked. We bonded over it, and it’s still one of our shared loves despite our distance. We always talk about it, gushing over every new episode and all the fanfictions to read and which character we’re most like.
As someone who’s watched the show for nearly seven years now, it’s heartbreaking to see it go. It’s part of my weekly routine to sit down and watch Supernatural when it comes on TV or watch it’s recording if I’m late coming home from work. It’s become so a part of my DNA, I didn’t honestly think about it ending ever. I always just assumed it would be like Doctor Who. Forever on-going even though some of the plot lines were repetitive because there was such a huge fan base for it.
But now, it’s ending, and it breaks my heart.
Excuse me while I go wipe this wet stuff off my face.
It’s challenging for a Tv show to have 10 seasons or higher so that’s why I’m amazed that this tv show has 15 seasons. Also because this is 10 seasons longer than the original plan which was ending after season 5 which would have been logical and great since they defeated Lucifer, and fans could fill in the blank how is Sam Winchester alive. I’m extremely happy, grateful, and joyful this tv show has 15 seasons that has 2 Likable relatable Main Characters Sam and Dean. That is a high amount of Dean and Sam lines to choose from that could be good or great quality, along with a high amount of Villains they fought, amazing scenes, sad scenes, etc. Also with 15 seasons and more than 290 episodes that is a high amount that I can rewatch, also analyze what are my favorite seasons, my least favorite seasons, etc.
Jared and Jensen from what I know have been extremely happy playing Sam and Dean, and have given 100 percent effort for all seasons
I’m joyful season 15 is the last season because maybe the writers will be able to create a series finale that gives the fans closure. I really want Sam and Dean to get happy endings. Sam can’t have a happy ordinary life with Sarah Blake for obvious reasons except maybe he and Dean can still have the happy endings of a ordinary life including Dean married to a woman he loves and she loves him, Sam married to a woman he loves and she loves him. The best thing that can happen for a tv show is for writers to know it’s the final season so it’ll give them a great chance to write a terrific series finale that gives the fans satisfaction because of closure instead of not knowing, and a tv show ends with a cliffhanger or cliffhangers. I”ll be watching season 15 with the joy of knowing this is the final season, and with optimism that the series finale is a great finale that gives me and other Supernatural fans closure. Also interested to watch to see if the cliffhangers that could be from other seasons are removed. What astounds me is that this tv show started on the WB, and currently with this decade almost over the lone WB tv show to still be on the air.
I don’t want this tv show to become unwatchable, bad, or awful which could happen if continued beyond 15 seasons so another great reason why this is ending with Season 15.
Supernatural is one of my favorite tv shows, Summer 2018 when at Karaoke on a Cruise Ship I was asked who am I dedicating the song Carry On My Wayward Son I said the tv show Supernatural and the guy said if I recall right I’m the only person he knows to dedicate a song to a tv show.
It’s challenging for a tv show to remain good or great quality with more than 5 seasons, and the writers have done that with Supernatural including that great crossover into the Scooby Doo Universe. It is also extremely challenging when a tv show has more than 5 seasons to not reuse storylines, and create original ideas.
