Just thinking to the amount of hate Anna Gunn got in 2010-2014 for this character who was mostly not even a bad person, while we have plenty of multidimensional female leads in prestige shows today, some of whom act outright villainously.
Thinking to Harper (and Yas) in Industry, Dr. Santos in the Pitt, Carol in Pluribus, several of the characters in the GOT universe, white lotus, succession, etc.
And don’t even get me started on how Taylor Sheridan shows portray their women.
Not sure how TV today compares to that “golden age” but at least in this way maybe we’ve progressed a little?
