Let me be clear none of the 3 revival TZ series (the ones from there 1980’s, 2000’s and netflix one from the late 2010’s) can ever match the quality and greatness of the original series, but of the revival series they made I feel the 1980’s one was the best and came the closet to capturing the spirit and quality of the original. This isn’t even nostalgia clouding my judgment because I wasn’t even alive when the 80’s series premiered and aired and I saw it when I was older.
The TZ series I actually had nostalgia for as a kid was the 2000’s one, but I recently rewatched it and …it was pretty bad. The 1980’s one had much better writing and acting. I actually think the idea of just having a voice over narrator in the 1980’s series rather than an on screen one like they did with the 2000’s and 2010’s series did was perfect and worked best especially since any on screen host would be compared to Rod Serling and there are very few who could have matched him.
