Original Title: Beauty( FX slash Hulu): an absolutely ridiculously wacky, occasionally nonsensical, but highly entertaining TV show. The fundamental plot is actually super interesting. Isabella Rossellini is phenomenal. It’s trash TV, but it’s high quality trash
There is so much idiocy, and wackiness, and just plain stupidity in this show you are often left rolling your eyes. But the fact remains that the fundamental plot and the fundamental concept is really interesting, to me anyway. Like honestly, what would you do to have a young, beautiful, perfect, stunningly attractive, healthy body?
But scientifically accurate? Lol no! And there’s also a subplot revolving around the most idiotically stupid assassins you’ve ever seen in your life. Various people are always getting murdered on the show in the dumbest way possible.
But one thing Ryan Murphy is really good at is showing the everyday life of extremely wealthy people. He portrays them as vain, lustful, shallow, narcissistic, money hungry, ambitious and quite frankly sociopathic. This show is making me believe that Ryan Murphy hangs out in real life with the type of people who wind up in the Epstein files
Vincent D’Onofrio and Isabella rossellini, in what are tragically small parts, are simply phenomenal as an extremely wealthy couple who basically despise each other. Ashton Kutcher plays a very believable shallow narcissistic douche bag, however his acting range is severely limited which definitely hurts the show
All in all it’s trash TV, but it’s high quality trash TV, and I do enjoy it
