Who, in your opinion, is/are the most incompetent characters in TV shows? Not the people written as incompetent for comedy (e.g. Homer Simpson) but rather characters in dramas/action/detective/cop shows in regular jobs who are incredibly incompetent at their jobs.
My two best examples:
- Saul Berenson (played by Mandy Patinkin) on Homeland - gets kidnapped by the bad guys every season and has to be saved by Carrie, lets a suspect kill herself while he is interrogating her, has a relationship with a Russian spy, gets numerous agents killed in the field through bad decisions. And gets promoted at the beginning of each season to boot.
- Whoever is in charge of security at CTU in 24 - a secure secret location with top tech and spyware within the US, that the bad guys manage to break into and take control of in what seems to be every single season.
Anyone beating these guys for incompetence?
