I love when TV shows hark back to something another character said earlier in the show or season. Some of my favorite examples:

  1. Mad Men - Don says “if you don’t like what’s being said, change the conversation” something Peggy then says later on in her own pitches for Heinz.

There are many Mad Men ones - in his pitch to Lucky Strike, Don says “you are okay” which is what Roger says back to him in the final season.

  1. Last of Us - Joel’s father says to him “I hope one day when you have kids you’ll do a little better than me,” something he repeats back to Ellie.
  2. Better Call Saul - Mike says to Jimmy “one day you’ll wake up and realize, you haven’t thought about it” which later on in the show he then says to Kim.
