I was watching an NFL fake-outs video, and noticed in the Marino “clock game” highlight, the announcer mentioned a 2-point conversion. I thought, WTF? The 2-point conversion is a new thing, right? They didn’t have it in Marino’s day, did they? So I looked it up and saw it was introduced in 1994. I started watching football in 1979, so I remember when the 2-point option was introduced it felt like a big deal. I remember Tom Tupa and everything.

But I didn’t realize so much time had passed. And doing the math, I realize everyone 40 and under, which is probably the vast majority of this sub, never remember an NFL without the 2-point conversion. That’s wild to me.

Anyway, it’s Friday night and I’ve had a few IPAs (and then some), so this is what I think about.
