As I’ve been watching NFL offenses this season, a silly (but hopefully interesting) thought kept coming to mind. How successful (or unsuccessful) would a “balls to the wall” offense be in the NFL. By BTTW I mean:

  • Never kick a field goal, always go for 6
  • Never kick a PAT, always go for 2
  • Always go for it on 4th, regardless of down/distance/time

How crazy is this idea? Imagine a team designed for this offense. How would it look, taking into account salary caps, etc.?

Yours truly,

Bill

Edit: Didn’t mean to single out any particular teams’ offenses

Edit: Per u/CR4ZY___PR0PH3T excellent analysis, I’ve removed “Always go for an onside kick”. He’s now my new OC.
