Today 26th January marks 100 years since John Logie Baird performed the first public demonstration of television in Frith Street London. I watched a really good documentary about him this week on BBC iPlayer JKB The Man who Saw the Future.
It was quite a moving story in that he put lots of his own money into his research, almost killed himself in an explosion and never achieved great plaudits or recognition in his own lifetime. He managed to create high definition, colour and 3d TV by the early 40s. We really do owe 100 years of TV to this man.
