For context, Barry was a dark comedy on HBO about a hitman who was inspired to quit his job to become an actor. He was helped along by his mentor Gene, his acting teacher and a failing actor himself, as Barry tried to keep his past from catching up to him.
From what we know about Wonder Man so far, Simon Williams is a powered individual trying to keep his superpowers a secret so that he can get the role of Wonder Man. He is going to be helped by Trevor Slattery, a failed actor who is also trying to join the Wonder Man film. See the connection?
It‘ll be interesting to see if the show has more parallels once it’s released in full.
