Since the show is getting a sequel this year, I thought it would be good to rewatch a lot of episodes of the show and forced my friends to watch it. I convinced all of them and we debated on it, depending on where they were in the story. Almost all of them were talking about how they loved Buffy and how the actress was doing a wonderful job. I’m from the Gen Z so most of my friends knew SMG from their parents who grew up with her in the 90s/2000s and the lot of them also knew her from Cruel Intentions with the guys saying how hot she was in the movie and we also debated about how she walked so Blair Waldorf could run.

As Buffy Summers, Sarah like, immediatly capture the attention. She’s witty and have a great screen presence. She seems to really understand Buffy and her struggles and the end of season 1, her performance really captures the sorrow Buffy feels about her Slayer duty. Like many of her co-stars said, SMG was very much booked with the show. Being in almost every scene and act and coveying so many emotions. The “Who Are You ?” episode is such an amazing episode because of how well SMG plays Faith and her overall mannerisms and her breakdown scene in the church. We also have The Body with the first few minutes being a long shot with SMG delivering an amazing performance. I think the only times she phoned in on the show’s run is in the last season, in which she also had the play The First, which again was a delight because Sarah plays the villain really well (which is why I cannot wait to see her in her new movie Ready Or Not : Here I Come). Noted TV critic for The New Yorker, Emily Nussbaum said in an article in 2014 that 1999 marked a turning point for television history because of The Sopranos and Buffy The Vampire Slayer, quoting “David Chase and Joss Whedon were turning television into something radical and groundbreaking” having their visions being praised and such but those two couldn’t have worked without the two great actors that were James Gandolfini (RIP) and Sarah Michelle Gellar.

What are your favorite acting moments of hers in the show ?
