The central conceit is contrived, the action is forced, only a few of the characters are really well-drawn (Robby, the head nurse, and the neurodivergent resident), the acting is uneven, and some of the medical situations smack of a writer’s room pulling whacky ideas out of a hat. Someone tell me what I’m missing about this show that is supposed to be so brilliant? I really want to like it and I keep trying, but I find myself rolling my eyes at it every few minutes.
