Invite user to mod a community without them commenting first

I’m wanting to add another account of mine on another instance as moderator in communities I mod here. I don’t want to have to go and drop comments on old threads or anything to be able to do it. I see there’s an API for it

lemmy.readme.io/reference/post_community-mod

but I can’t see how to get an API key. I’ve seen some indicator that Lemmy has a developer dashboard where I can find my API key, but I don’t see how to access the dashboard.

Any guidance?
