Original Title: The Bills firing McDermott but promoting Brandon Beane should be the start of a lesson that will haunt teams: there’s too large of a ratio of head coaches getting fired compared to General Managers getting fired

People say it’s a lot harder to get rid of general managers but when you have poo-poo heads like Schoen with the Giants and Ballard in Indianapolis and the million different GMs with the Raiders (not to mention Baalke with the 49ers and Jaguars, good riddance!), they should be the ones getting the heave-ho.

Who knows if Steichen in Indy or even McDermott in Buffalo could have done better this season if the GMs got axed during the last off-season.

I really hope that some day a paradigm shift happens and owners start putting more blame on the GMs and less scapegoating on the head coaches. But for now, we play the coaching carousel game…sigh…
