I was genuinely shocked when I noticed Roseanne playing in higher definition on Peacock, especially since it was originally shot on videotape. I looked it up and found that it’s been AI-upscaled. It looks awful and feels like a disrespect to everyone who worked on the show (even if Roseanne herself arguably deserves it). As if the AI upscaling wasn’t bad enough, they also cropped it to widescreen. What the f*ck is going on? Next thing you know, All in the Family, The Golden Girls will be AI-remastered too, and the original versions will get buried and all we’re left with is this fake AI crap.
