Watching MAS*H for the first time and this is one of the most devastating, beautiful and real episodes I’ve ever watched.

“When the doctors cut into a patient… and it’s cold, the way it is now today… steam will rise from the body. And the doctor will warm his hands over the open wound. How could anybody look upon that and not feel changed?”

“You gotta understand, i’m not working on sick people here. I’m working on hurt young people with essentially healthy bodies that have been insulted by ammunition.”

“But now that i’m here, i can’t understand why anybody would willingly go to a war, would go with enthusiasm, would want to be there while it’s happening.”

This is a must watch episode, not just for MASH, but for all of television.
