This is going to be an unpopular view and may trigger some. Everytime I used to see the news that this show was renewed for another season, I used to get angry for Netflix cancelling so many of my followed shows while renewing slops like this- mind you, I was never a fan of shows like Gilmore Girls and have never watched any episode of G&G then … Till now. Recently I was in a situation where I was unable to use the remote for the TV and this show was on. I rolled my eyes back, things we do to please our loved ones. Then something happened, by the end of S01E01, I became mildly interested. By S1E2, I started liking it. And by E4, I became a fan of the show. See, the premises is simple, it’s been done many times, and coming off age stories, if done well, can melt even the most hardened a-hole’s heart. (Yes, we see you Degrassi). G&G, though with the age old concept, exudes a freshness. It’s more like a rediscovery. It has a surprising vitality with its finger on contemporary pulse. Adding this to my guilty pleasure
