There are several great TV shows out there that go downhill, some are lucky to already have great endings before that happens where your head canon can stop at.

Name some TV shows you feel had perfect endings that shouldn’t have continued.

Killing Eve - The bridge scene at the end of Season 3 is a beautiful and ambiguous way to end the show, as Villanelle gives Eve the choice to walk away from her but they stop and look at each other. It was perfect. Season 4 did not need to happen.

Luther - Like Killing Eve, it had a beautiful bridge scene at the end of Season 3, Luther throws his signature jackets into the Thames and walks off with Alice brings it full circle. Season 4-5 and the movie doesn’t live up to it.

Dexter - A lot of fans tend to stop at the season 4 finale with Rita’s death, I personally love the Season 7 finale with Deb making the choice to kill LaGuerta over Dexter, solidifying their bond and they both have to live with their killer secrets together, bittersweet ending to me. No need to watch the further seasons.

Misfits - The Season 3 finale brings everything full circle, Season 4 is basically a reboot with new characters inferior to the originals.

Heroes - The first Season felt like self-contained story no need to continue.

Being Human (UK) - While the Season 3 ending did have some loose ends it still marked an end of an era for the main trio with Mitchell’s death. The direction they went in Season 4 was so bizarre and completely missed the point of appeal of the show, that it’s best to end things open ended with Season 3 while it’s still strong.
