Kurt Warner tweeted the following thoughts on why it’s ridiculous to use SOS in the MVP debate. He also went into more detail in this YT video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLDK3r9NwmA

People who are using ANY NFL schedule as a means of discrediting a phenomenal season & an MVP case is ridiculous to me!! They are all NFL players… you play the teams on your schedule, when & where they tell you… each game has its own story… and the player who’s had the best season should win the MVP, period!!

There are so many factors we could use just for TDs:

What was avg distance of throw?

How much YAC on each? Was guy wide open? Did WR make a great catch? How many atts inside 5 did a QB get?

Was it man (easier) or zone (more difficult)?

How much did a QB throw in a blowout game?

They could all build a case… but again, you play the play… you play the game… and then we should watch it all & decide who has the best season!

For context, Kurt Warner won the 1999 MVP with the greatest show on turf in the easiest SOS schedule ever recorded, with his RB Marshall Faulk being the MVP runner up that season
