Those teams are: SEA, SF, LAR, PHL, CHI, DEN, NE, BUF, LAC, JAX, and HOU

Had GB managed to just flip one of their losses (or Cowboy tie), and win next week, they would’ve been the 12th, marking a new record. Alas, it only ties with 2020, where those teams were: KC, BUF, PIT, CLE, BAL, TEN, IND, NO, SEA, TB, and GB.

I understand that some of this is a function of the expansion to 14 team playoffs (plus the 17 game schedule), but it’s worth noting 2020 only had 16 game schedules, and was still able to pull this off. The closest a 12 team playoff field got was 10, usually hovering around 8 or 9. As another aside, the infamous Patriot 11-5 miss of 2008 wouldn’t have helped that year, as there were not 10 other 11 win teams that year.

Just kind of an interesting stat to consider that highlights the high amount of “good teams” there have been this year, even in the absence of the “usual suspects.”
