CFB broadcasts used to list players’ academic majors, it was an interesting data point. Can’t remember the last time this was even mentioned in a broadcast, and many media guides don’t either.
Do the players even attend class in person anymore? Or is it all cheesy online classes.
With players transferring schools 3 times in a career, how do players even maintain the semblance of progress towards a degree?
When was the last time you ever heard of a player being declared academically ineligible during a season?
This is all hurtling towards dropping the requirement to be enrolled as a student entirely, and making the players contract employees of the university athletic department.
