It’s true that Apple TV has very solid series, but I don’t really buy the “they took HBO’s crown” claim. To me, it seems that they greenlight an enormous amount of stuff while hoping a few of them turn out good.

Just look at this numbers, new shows (comedies and dramas) since 2024 up to now from Apple TV, HBO, and FX (the other prestige outlet):

  • Apple TV: 32

  • HBO: 12

  • FX: 7
