On the OU side, the big deal here is R Mason Thomas being available for the game, and Maikkula, our only remaining Center, still possibly being injured. The latter part is somewhat tempered by Heath Ozaeta being back, as when we moved our RG Nwaiwu over to Center he got himself some money on his way to the NFL, although it meant sliding our freshman RT over to RG, where he looked terrible, and the backup RT didn’t look great, either. Instead of all that, it’s likely that we’d just keep Fodje at RT and plug Ozaeta in at RG, if Maikkula can’t go and we have to move Nwaiwu over again. The other notable here is Keontez Lewis finally being available again, who should plug right back in at WR3 and be impactful in the short passing game. Not exactly an injury thing, but I would also be surprised if we didn’t see backup QB Michael Hawkins Jr. at some point in this game, because of the running threat he represents, as he’s obviously been redshirting this season to prepare to transfer, and amicably so, by all reports.

On the Bama side, LT Overton being out is a huge deal, and Cuevas was their leading receiver when we played earlier this year (6 for 80 yards and a 25-yard TD), which is saying something on a team with Jermie Bernard and Ryan Williams. Jam Miller and Daniel Hill both being healthy as well is also pretty huge for the Alabama running game, even if that avenue still probably lies at the feet of the only OL in the SEC that might be worse than ours at running the rock.

Anything I missed, OU and Bama fans?
