So with the chaotic coaching carousel, it seems a common occurrence is someone mentions Deboer for some big open job and everyone pretty much points out that no one’s leaving Alabama on their own terms for another coaching job in CFB.

What I’m wondering is, what are those top tier programs that a coach would pretty much never leave for a better offer. Off the top of my head, I’m thinking Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Ohio State, and maybe Oregon? I only say Oregon because Dan Lanning had a chance to take the Alabama job and didn’t.

And going off of that, in what scenario would a coach willing leave one of those jobs for another coaching job? There’s the obvious cases of firing, retirement, or going to the NFL, but would there ever be a case where a coach would have a good reason to jump from one top tier programs to another?
