I’m 23 years old and I grew up reading the Percy Jackson books. They were the first book series I ever read. I absolutely loved them and I was so excited for the Disney+ show. Rick Riordan was involved and they were doing one season per book. I was thrilled!
However, I was quite underwhelmed by season 1. I didn’t mind the changes made from the book as I knew there probably would be, but something just felt off to me. The writing was clunky, the pacing was weird, the settings all looked off, I just thought it was okay. But season 2 just premiered yesterday and it’s already so much better. The set up for the season was great, the show looks and feels 10x better, even the way it’s filmed looks leaps better than season 1. Its streets ahead of season 1;).
They’re filming on real sets and using less of the volume it seems. If you also found season 1 quite underwhelming, check out season 2. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!
