I always liked to watch soap operas when I was little. I watched them with my grandma. I miss these evenings as much as my grandma but yeah, that’s life. But looking back at it, there is nothing that can’t be forgiven in soap operas. And sometimes, it’s enemies to lovers in particulary extreme ways.

In the soap opera “Forbidden Love” , one of the central family’s members turned out to be a serial killer. She ran around and killed her problems outta the way. Yet at one point, she stopped and started her redemption arc. She promised to be a better person and…lived a successful happy life afterwards? I mean, WHAT? Everybody let her roam freely, no questions asked, like it’s normal. She became a totally normal boring character.

And in “All That Counts”, another soap opera here in germany, a woman kills the wife of a man by looking on her phone while she is driving. That man tries to kill her but stops at the last minute. And years after that, they have a love arc and get married. What the fuck?

I am so so fascinated about how absolutely everything can be forgiven in soap operas. It’s a league of its own.
