Original Title: S2E13 The Twilight Zone, men discuss time travel and fixing the market crash of '29. One is later sent back in time to the assassination of Lincoln. If set today, the man would be sent back to the stock market crash and the men would have mused about fixing something that happened in 1994.
S2E13 “Back There” aired January 13th, 1961 and is set on April 14th, 1961. The men discuss the crash of 1929, about 32 years before, and the character played by Russell Johnson of Gilligan’s Island Professor fame is sent back exactly 96 years to the day Lincoln was assassinated (April 14th, 1865).
I just watched the episode last night and it’s a bit late for a “perfect” post, but the stock market crash was exactly 96 years ago this year in late October (24th or 29th depending on when you think the crash began). If this episode was set on October 29th, 2025, exactly 96 years before is the crash.
The opening of the episode has the men speaking about fixing an event that happened exactly 11,490 days previous. That means in this new modern episode the men would be trying to fix an event that happened May 15th, 1994.
