Original Title: Teams are turning down bowls this year. ESPN owns most of the bowls in CFB. If traditional bowls stop being played outside of the playoffs, financially, do you think it was worth a t for ESPN to push a playoffs or bust mentality?

It feels like ESPN was really counting on being able to have its cake and eat it too. The committee and ESPN wanted the biggest teams in the playoffs for ratings. They didn’t seem to think that any of the teams would give them pushback for not making the playoffs. If more  teams decide they dont want to play in bowl games, would it have been worth it for ESPN to push playoffs or bust?
