I watched Dallas re-runs when I was a kid on the 90’s. I know “Who shot J.R.?” was not merely a question which viewers desperately wanted answers to - it was a cultural phenomenon. Sure, J.R. getting shot was mildly interesting because he was a son of a bitch who deserved it. But it’s not like he died. This must be one of those things where you had to be there. If you watched J.R. get shot in 1980 tell us what it was like having this iconic television moment become part of the air.
