This script has all the hallmarks of an AI developed script to include irrational character choices, one dimensional stereotypes, and clichéd tropes. Who read this script and thought “this is a great show. Let’s do this unbelievable and unoriginal plot”? What they got wrong: just about everything. From the sophomoric plot to the excruciating dialogue. A pair of fishnet stockings has less holes than this plot. Without spoilers, the writers could have googled some of the technical procedures/protocols/terminology, but they were too lazy (or arrogant) and made it up instead, thinking the audience was too stupid to catch it. I mean, if the studio is too cheap to spring for a consultant, one of the staff writers must have a friend or relative with relevant experience they could call for advice or at least correct terminology. The “twists” were ridiculous… I watched every agonizing episode and regret it. Even the score was weird and incongruous.
The good: Alfre Woodard once again proves herself an amazing actor and somehow made the awful dialogue interesting and powerful. She is exceptional as always. The scenery was pretty good. The cinematography was pretty good. Some of the supporting actors were very good, Better than some of the main characters. I loved the use of Native American culture and actors - but they missed out on making it a real function of the show. Bottom line: save yourself - there’s much more to watch out there. I gave it a 2 for cinematography and Alfre Woodard.
