Over the last few Lions games we’ve been shown career TDs scored before age 24. It’s an interesting stat, but hard to really make comparisons over time given the expansion of the season and players rarely left college early until the 80s.
Instead I thought I’d look at TDs scored in the first 50 games of a career. I included playoff games, which isn’t traditionally done because some players would have more games than others. However, the point here is to equalize the number of games played. Including playoffs, Gibbs has 49 career games so far.
54 Marcus Allen
54 Jim Brown
52 Jahmyr Gibbs
51 Chuck Foreman
50 Eric Dickerson
49 Barry Sanders
47 Earl Campbell
47 Abner Haynes
47 Terrell Davis
46 Randy Moss
46 Adrian Peterson
