Welcome to week 13 of the 2025 r/NFL power rankings, the most biased-unbiased source for power rankings on the web. Jaguars ranker /u/preludeoflight is this week’s prophet, unwavering in his #1 ranking of the Patriots since week 9. Now over 20 rankers have followed suit, usurping the Rams at the top spot, with Rams/Broncos/Seahawks also receiving top votes. The Chiefs and Ravens had the biggest slides after truly underwhelming performances, while the Bears, Texans, Packers, and Bengals had the biggest jumps. Caleb Williams looks to be Chicago’s weakness, do you think they can continue to hold off the rest of the NFC? Are the Texans poised to make a late push with a defense only the Broncos can rival? Which teams do you think are undeserving of their spot? Discuss! 31/32 Reporting

1. Patriots +1 11-2 Ok, who told the Patriots to play like they were being controlled by a 14 year old first-time Madden player? And can we get that kid to take over in two weeks against the Bills as well? Because the Hit Stick was being put to absolutely diabolical use on Monday night against a dismal 2-10 Giants team just trying to close out the season. Maybe the Patriots defenders figured the Giants players couldn’t get any more CTE than they already have, so they were fair game for massive hits and headshots? Even kicker Younghoe Koo clearly thought he was in a Charlie Brown movie and not on an NFL field, if that isn’t a sign of too many hits in the head, I’m not sure what is. Unfortunately for the Giants, even their best matchup on the night (their fearsome defensive linemen vs the depleted Patriots o-line) was weakened by Abdul Carter busting… being a bust in a team meeting and then being benched for a portion of the game. Alright, all jokes aside, this was a complete win in all three phases of the game for the Pats. The offense was able to move the ball effortlessly despite missing multiple offensive linemen, the defense played lights out and set a hard-nosed tone early into the night, and special teams came up huge with punt return touchdown and a forced fumble off of a massive hit during a kickoff return attempt. This kind of dominant win over a massively inferior opponent is exactly the sort of performance you want heading into a late bye week to conclude a run of 10 straight wins. Things get a little tougher in two weeks with upcoming games against the Bills and Ravens, but if New England can reset and get a bit healthier during their week off, I’m not really sure who in the AFC can actually stop them at the moment. ;
2. Rams -1 9-3 Power rank #1 curse is real. Despite the Rams having a more efficient offense than Carolina, costly turnovers by former MVP frontrunner Matt Stafford and untimely defensive lapses (mainly by Emmanuel Forbes) were the difference. Let’s chalk this loss up to a few key plays that went the other way during an early east coast game in bad weather and have faith that lessons will be learned before it’s too late. The Rams have friendly remaining schedule strength, though anything but the #1 seed will all but ensure another outdoor road game, so there’s little margin for error.
3. Seahawks 9-3 Another awesome Sunday! It was Darnold’s revenge game… and I guess you can say he succeeded? But really, the defense succeeded on his behalf. The Minnesota Vikings should be looked at for reckless endangerment of Max Brosmer’s life. Throwing him to the wolves against Leonard Williams, Byron Murphy, Demarcus Lawrence, Uchenna Nwosu, Boye Mafe… No bueno! Demarcus Lawrence needs a special shoutout-- he has been an absolutely massive addition to this defense. He has thrived in MacDonald’s defense. He was taking Brosmer down for a sack when Brosmer decided to throw Ernest Jones an 80 yard touchdown. He also made a hell of a play after getting chipped by Aaron Jones to force a fumble where other players would have just accepted they were out of the play. I truly cannot gush about the defense enough; they have been performing at a level comparable to the legendary Legion of Boom. JSN had his first not-good game of the season, but it’s ok. The offense could use an adrenaline shot, but with a defense like this… it may not matter. Go Hawks.
4. Broncos 10-2 I liked the part where we won, but the rest of the time I was a mess. It may be low-hanging fruit, but this meme really does capture the experience perfectly. Marcus Mario-Tah (correct pronunciation, get it right) played his ass off, Scary Terry still has it, and the Broncos Defense is mortal BUT NOT THAT MORTAL. Riley Moss quietly had the best game of his career, but I found it ironic that the game where he got no bullshit flags, we got an outrageous number of bullshit flags (and missed penalties) everywhere else. I do think the Bronocos came out on the positive side of the refereeing, but I also think that this was one of the best primetime games we’ve seen this year so it won’t be as sore of a subject. Bo Nix threw the worst interception since the Vikings game (pick one), but he also orchestrated a gorgeous touchdown drive to begin overtime. Maybe by the time he retires we will know which guy is the real Bo? For now though, I’m content to enjoy the win. Here’s hoping the defense comes back to prime form, because the Raiders love to play us close and I’m not marking this next matchup as an easy win.
5. Packers +4 8-3-1 With a Thanksgiving win, I wanna give some thanks to some under-reported players on the Packers this year. 2nd round draftee Anthony Belton has slotted very nicely into right guard as Green Bay shuffles their OL to figure out how to cope with the loss of Elgton Jenkins, the project tackle pick has progressed ahead of schedule to fill that hole. Warren Brinson has been a gem in the rough in the 6th round of the draft, with our DT depth being strained by the Clark trade and the Wyatt injury, he’s given us very solid snaps as a rookie. Daniel Whelan is PFF’s highest graded punter for good reason, the only bright spot of our special team unit. Stars like Micah Parsons and Jordan Love are great, but getting quality contributions from the periphery of the team is the difference maker between good teams and great ones.
6. Bears +6 9-3 The Bears finally have their signature win. Coming into the week, they were getting called frauds and somewhat deservedly so, for being 8-3 the way they were. On Black Friday, the Bears walked in to the defending SB Champs’ house and had arguably the best rushing performance in team history over the last 40 years. Their defense, often the sore spot of the team, got it’s two best players back and completely disrespected a struggling Eagles offense, blitzing nonstop and taking the ball away from a team that does not typically turn it over. This week, the team has its best opportunity in years, with a chance to set themselves up to be favored for the North if they are able to beat the Packers on a road, and such a statement would make last week look like nothing. It’s fun to be back in it.
7. Bills +1 8-4 32 Carries 144 yards! The Bills fed James Cook and he responded by feasting on the Steelers defense. Once the second half started it was complete domination on all sides of the ball. The defense came up huge with a crazy minute and half sequence including an interception and a wild strip sack fumble TD that resulted in a bloody nose for Rodgers. Whenever you have a future hall of fame QB calling out his wide receivers and a future hall of fame coach getting booed you know you are doing something right. Next up the gauntlet begins facing the Joe Burrow led Bengals, the 10 game winning streak Pats, the Kevin Patullo led Eagles (and the Browns) in a pivotal 4 week stretch.
8. Eagles -3 8-4 The finger-pointing is in full swing. Is it Kevin Patullo, the new OC who can’t seem to call a consistent game? Is it the O-line, injured, slow, and for the first time in years, unable to run block effectively? Is it Nick Sirianni’s scheme? After all, he is the common denominator these past few seasons of offensive struggles. Is it the injured safeties? The lack of a consistent pash rush? The run blocking? One goat to scape: Jalen Hurts. The reigning Super Bowl MVP has regressed to some of his most frustrating tendencies since the bye, and watching the team is like watching an offense play uphill into the wind. The good news: they’re 8-4, and still have a legitimate chance to push for the 1 or 2 seed with the Rams losing.
9. 49ers +2 9-4 The 26-8 win Sunday marked the first 49ers win in Cleveland since Nov 11, 1984. It was an ugly affair, with high winds hampering offenses and special teams. The team now heads into its bye week only a half game out of the division lead, which seems almost miraculous after the string of injuries they have faced. Shanahan and Salah should be strong candidates for Coach of the Year and Assistant Coach…
