Has anyone ever heard of the CBS crime drama series “Close to Home?” It was a short-lived show, airing for only two seasons between 2005 and 2007. The series revolves around a young prosecutor named Annabeth Chase (Jennifer Finnigan) who has just had a daughter and is balancing her life between her job and her family. I saw a couple episodes, including the pilot one where Annabeth just returned from maternity leave and learns about a nearby mother who was accused of burning her house with her son and daughter inside. Initially, she is charged with child abuse, but she testifies that her husband had abused and locked them all in the house for two years, so her son lit the fire so the fire department would rescue them. In the end, the husband got 25 years for the crimes. I found this series very interesting.
