Let’s look at 3 teams and how it relates to Brent Venables.
Clemson - Hasn’t been the same since he left.
Oklahoma - Couldn’t stop anybody and was primarily a offensive machine until he got there and now are a legitimate contender.
USC - Lincoln Riley was the coach at OU and was always a great offensive mind but could never get a defense worth 5 bags of softballs and that continues and will probably never change.
Why bring this up? Because everybody was laughing at OU after Riley left and stole half the roster and said they were down for the count it looks like OU made the right choice and built things the right way for the long haul.
Flash and offensive play will get you big contracts and glamor but it won’t win a Title.
