I like slow burn shows and movies but I also feel like there’s a limit to how slow the pace can be and how long you can hold the mystery. After ep 5 I got this feeling of “well, they’re setting things off, they will soon take off”, then I realized I thought the same in ep 4, and ep 3. The point is although I’m enjoying enough to keep watching, I feel like what keeps me watching is this expectation that the show will develop into something it is not currently, that a major plot or twist or character will show up and drive away the narrative from this very slow progression. But I’ve been thinking this for 3 episode now, how long is too long? We’re are more than halfway the first season, if a whole season keeps going at this pace, constantly feeling like something is coming, but never actually coming, will it be too much? Will something ACTUALLY happen in this sense, or will the show keep this progression for 4 seasons? I think we are all hoping not, but then, how long is too long for this slow build up?
