“Be curious, not judgmental”

The whole driving point of the scene is that his entire life guys have just judged and belittled Ted because they weren’t curious. " 'cause if they were curious, they would have asked questions, Questions like “Have you played a lot of darts, Ted?”"

The very beginning of the scene starts with Rupert asking “Do you like darts Ted?” to which Ted basically lies and says he’s a cornhole guy. So Rupert WAS being curious and asking questions and Ted was being the disingenuous one.

Now, obviously Rupert’s still a dick given all the other character evidence we know and see. I’ve always loved that scene but now love it a little bit less knowing Rupert was indeed being curious.
