I love Sharon Gless as Christine Cagney, I wouldn’t have it anyway, but I’ve been watching Season 1 and Meg Foster, while not as good as Gless, was still a solid Cagney.
She did play it too butch and I’m guessing Tyne Daly already fit that bill. When Foster got canned, I noticed Daly got more masculine looking while Gless would wear dresses and more make-up, so I guess they wanted a duo of girls where one was femme and the other one was masc.
Foster’s whole look was memorable. Those eyes.
