One word to describe it is…forced.
Everything.
Soundtracks are forced, especially the first episode.
Dialogue is forced, perspectives (of other characters) are forced
My thoughts are not yet fully formulated this is all I got so far.
Anyways, this would be alleviated somewhat if I got the plot direction wrong. If this is a character study, and not a mystery scifi drama. Then it might become something at least above average.
