Rising Latin music star DELAROSA has been shot dead and two others critically wounded in an ambush-style attack in Los Angeles.
The possibly gang-related killing occurred in Northridge, in the San Fernando Valley, just before 1.30am on Saturday morning.
LAPD officials identified 22-year-old Maria De La Rosa, known to fans by her stage name DELAROSA, as the victim on Monday amid an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Gunmen are said to have approached a parked vehicle and opened fire in a barrage of rounds.
‘Witnesses described seeing two male suspects approach a vehicle that was parked on Bryant Street,’ the LAPD said in a Monday statement.
‘Multiple rounds were fired at several victims who were parked in the area in their vehicle.’
Police said three people were inside the car when the shooting began. All three were struck.
The attack unfolded on Bryant Street just east of Tampa Avenue, an otherwise calm block of the Northridge neighborhood.
