The Zips are 4-7 (3-4 MAC), so they are unable to make the conference championship game and unable to qualify for a bowl game. Akron are also small underdogs at Bowling Green (current line is Akron +3.5). So, it appears unlikely the Zips can get to 5-7. Even if they do, according to the APR rankings released by the NCAA on May 7th, Akron is also dead last in the country in APR. So, it would be near impossible for them to qualify for a bowl as a 5-7 team.

All this to say, the Zips play their final game tonight. Not really special other than it comes about 11 days before the heart of the final week of the regular season. Not sure why the Zips were awarded this strange scheduling oddity, but congrats on the early start to the offseason and prepping for next year!
