I watched Episode 1 of Pluribus and really enjoyed it. Sci-fi, thriller, some horror, some comedy, a great, exciting ride. Lots happened: the signal, the virus, the infection, scary scenes with “zombies”.

In contrast, Episode 2 seemed - mundane? Campy? Most of the episode was spent on characters sitting (or standing) and talking, with a focus on mild drama and comedy. While episode 1 was a sci-fi thriller, episode 2 felt more like a “dark sitcom” or an “interpersonal melodrama” as someone else on reddit put it.

This is not a matter of action scenes or attention span. Having differently paced episodes is natural. I don’t mind charismatic characters having gripping conversations. But this seems more like 1 semi-interesting protagonist interacting with a hive mind and 5 very bland “normal characters”, one somewhat eccentric. This is not Idris Elba interacting with Wood Harris, if you know what I mean. This is just “some people” in a brightly lit setting sitting around a table with waitresses in leopard suits.

Just too “campy” or “mundane” for my taste. Any thoughts?
