Something I’ve always wondered - when it comes to on-air speaking (hosts, anchors, talk show talent, even reality show narration), how much of that performance is tracked or analyzed versus just refined through experience?

Like, are there teams or tools that break down speech patterns - pacing, filler words, tone shifts - to help presenters improve over time? Or is it still mostly coaching and repetition until it “feels right”?

I’m pretty analytical by nature, so I’ve always thought it’d be cool if there were metrics for on-air delivery, kind of like how producers track timing or engagement.

Curious if anyone here knows whether major networks or production companies actually do that behind the scenes.
