For those of you who have watched a lot of limited series as well as longer series with multiple seasons, which format do you prefer? When you talk about your favorite tv shows are the shows sitting at the top mostly limited series or regular series?

I know this depends on what story is being told, but in general which of the two formats do you prefer?

Me personally, I prefer the limited series format. I think that’s the perfect format as it’s the perfect mix of film and series. You get enough time for character development, exploring complex themes, exploring different character dynamics, delve deeper into the characters and flesh them out which is something most films aren’t capable of doing due to the limited runtime, but it also has a conclusion, doesn’t overstay its welcome, concludes its story arc within a single cohesive season and has an ending planned out from the minute you press play which is something most regular series don’t have because often times they stretch the narrative and it loses the plot after a few seasons.
