In the Amazon Prime series; The Boys, there is a scene where Butcher and Annie are trying to find a vehicle fast in order to get Hughie medical attention, and when they have an encounter with an innocent man in his car. He agrees to help get Hughie to the hospital, but rightfully refuses to just give them his car. Which then leads to Butcher planning to use his gun against him and rob him of his car, and upon feeling threatened, the man takes his own gun out when he understands his intentions.
Although Starlight tries to deescalate the situation, she accidentally kills him when she uses her powers against him. It then turns out that this man was also a father, and given how this was a big turning point for Starlight as a character, it left you thinking that this incident would come back to haunt her someday.
However, with the show reaching its final season and the way the show completely disregards this incident in the fourth season, when Starlight is being confronted with the wrongs she did in her past with Firecracker (a sup who turned out to be a victim of Starlight’s bullying when they were kids) and a shapeshifter who impersonates her and has all of her memories mocks her for how “nothing is ever her fault.” but never brings up her killing that innocent man.
It’s very unlikely that this plot point will ever get addressed again, before the show wraps up!
